GENERAL
Any work undertaken at The Boat Works that could result in a pollution incident must be safeguardedagainst. This may require the pre-deployment of floating booms or drop sheets. Any contractor found inbreach of environmental legislative requirements will be suspended from the facility immediately. Anypenalties incurred by The Boat Works as a result of a contractor’s breach of Environmental Legislation willbe recovered from the contractor. It is the contractor’s responsibility to determine whether or not theactivities that they are to undertake at the marina could result in a pollution incident. If any doubt exists,consult with The Boat Works Manager before commencing your work.
DAMAGE
The Boat Works facility property damaged by a contractor will be repaired at the contractor’s expense.
EPA GUIDELINES
The EPA enforces strict regulations regarding waste (oil, fuel, rubbish etc.) and drainage. Acid wash is onlyto be carried out on the hardstand. Suitable drop sheets must be used and all waste and contaminatedgoods are to be disposed of appropriately as per the EPA regulations. Please note that drains markedYELLOW flow to stormwater. Please take note because hefty penalties apply. This is a non-smokingworkplace. Owners and their representatives who are not licensed may obtain a copy of the EPAregulations from The Boat Works.
VEHICLE MOVEMENTS & PARKING
Boatyard machinery always has right of way within the centre. Please ensure a 5m radius of all Boat WorksMachinery is kept clear at all times. A Crew member will direct traffic when needed. All vehiclemovements are restricted to the designated speed limit of 10km. Please do not park your vehicle in anunauthorised parking spot – our machines may need to access this area. All unattended cars that areparked in an unauthorised area may be towed. You will find convenient car parking areas shown on thesite map attached.
MARINA/BOAT RAMP
Marina Berths onsite are strictly working berths. Internal works can be carried out freely however externalworks are required to be environmentally friendly – if unsure, please contact the Office. All berths haveaccess to potable water and there is 10, 15, 32, 63, 125, 250 AMP and 3 Phase power available.Both the Southern and Northern Boat ramps are private and must be booked with the Office to arrangetiming - a small ramp usage fee is applicable.
REFIT SHEDS / HARDSTAND
10, 15, 32, 63, 125, 250 AMP and 3 Phase power is available. Power and water for hardstand area is locatedon red pedestals behind every second hardstand spot.
*Please note: All water in the southern yard is non-potable water.
STORAGE
For any vessel in the Hardstand Storage area, there are strictly no works permitted. The vessel owner willhave access to 10 & 15 AMP power and water for routine maintenance e.g. polishing, cleaning etc. No forsale signs are to be attached to vessels in the storage area.
*Please note: All water in the storage area is non-potable water.
WATERBLASTING
This is a service provided by The Boat Works.To be completed within the dedicated Waterblast bay’s only & by TBW team.Waterblast - 3500 PSI and are adjustableShould your vessel only require a light waterblast please advise Shipyard/Operations team.
Wet Rubbing; is allowed on the Hardstand.
Be sure to hose off all left over residue to the drains at the rear of the vessel. This keeps the concreteclean for yourself and the next customer.
This water is then treated!
Barnacle Scrape; if required additional charges will be incurred.
YARDS WORK REQUIREMENTS/HOUSEKEEPING
We take pride in our site. Please help us keep the site in good condition by ensuring the area surroundingyour vessel is left clean at the end of each working day and all loose items are secured and safely stowedaway. Clean up fees may apply if the Boat Works team is required to clean up your mess.
WASTE
Please ensure all used materials (i.e. Sandpaper, rags, hull scrapings etc.) are disposed of into theappropriate bins provided within the yard.
Should you require a dedicated bin please co-ordinate with TBW Operations team to arrange, this willincur a fee.
Chemicals, fuels, oils, cleaners & paints are to be handled correctly to prevent spills and pollution off theground and water and our treatment plant.
Designated area is onsite for oil, battery, steel and general recycling – refer to TBW site map.
*DO NOT DISPOSE DOWN ANY DRAINS
PAINTING
Any Spray Painting must have prior approval from TBW Operations Manager. Airless spraying is to beperformed by TBW Tenants or otherwise pre- arranged with TBW Operations team.
Suitable containment and screening is necessary. Drop sheets are to be used at all times.Vessel must be completely wrapped to prevent overspray or dust landing on surrounding vessels.
Once spraying is completed, all surrounding vessels need to be checked over.
If they have any overspray on them, it is the vessel owner & contractors responsibility to clean these boatson the same day.
Any paint dust or overspray stains gelcoat and paint work as soon as it is moist (rain or dew). This willprevent an expensive fix; i.e. repeatedly washed, cut & polish to remove stains. Screened Refit Sheds canbe requested at an additional charge.
SANDBLASTING
To be conducted within the designated Sandblast Shed onsite. Should there be a need to Sandblast thevessel once set down on the hardstand or within a refit shed the vessel will need to be relocated and willincur an additional relocate charge.
SAILS & SPINNAKERS
Not to be released whilst on the Hardstand or in Storage for safety reasons.
Must be done prior to haul out.
STAIRS
We will provide stairs free of charge for access use only. Stairs are available in various heights. They arenot to be used in any way for a mobile scaffold. These are supplied at your own risk.
Once stairs are positioned in place they are to be tied off to a secure location on the vessel. Ladders alsocan be provided.

SET-UP OF VESSEL
DO NOT tamper with props or stands under vessel, The Boat Works operations team have set vesselsdown to a safe working standard.
HIRE OF EQUIPMENT
For your safety other equipment i.e. scaffold, scissor lift, dust extractors & screening etc. can be sourced& delivered to site.
